Preschool: Do three requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Learn about the major characters of Super Mario.  Who are the "good" guys and who are the "bad" guys?

_____ 2.* Write a timeline of Super Mario's history. It should have at least 3 items on it. (Ex. Who created it? When did it first come out? How many games are there and what platforms are they for? What kind of other merchandise is there?

 

Level 1: Do four requirements including the two starred *

______1.* Do Preschool Requirements 1 & 2.  Your timeline should have 5 items.
______2.* Write a short Super Mario story, such as an adventure the characters could go on.

 

Level 2: Do five requirements including the two starred *

______1.* Do Level 1 Requirements 1 & 2. Your timeline should have 7 items.
______2.* Play at least two different Mario games, such as Mario Kart or Mario Party. Discuss which game is your favorite with a parent or friend.

 

Level 3: Do six requirements including the two starred *

______1.* Do Level 2 Requirements 1 & 2. Your timeline should have 10 items.
______2.* Create a Mario fangame with any program (The Games Factory, Game Maker, etc).

 

Level 4: Do seven requirements including the two starred *

______1.* Do Level 3 Requirements 1 & 2. Your timelines should have 12 items.
______2.* Write a one page report on your favorite Super Mario character. Why are they your favorite? What is your favorite power-up they have?

 

Level 5: Do nine requirements including the two starred *

______1.* Do Level 4 Requirements 1 & 2. Your timelines should have 12 items.______2.* Teach someone how to do a skill from this badge or teach some knowledge about this badge to someone.   You can teach kids, your spouse, seniors, anyone, just as long as you are sharing your new found knowledge.   If for some reason you cannot teach what you have learned to someone else, you may choose an additional 2 optional requirements instead.

 

Optional Requirements:

______3. Create at least five Mario fangames. This is in addition to Eagle #2.
______4. Create at least five Mario-themed microgames/levels and share it with your friends! (using WarioWare D.I.Y., Mario vs Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, Mario vs Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move)
  • Level 3: 10 microgames/levels
  • Level 4: 15 microgames/levels
  • Level 5: 20 microgames/levels

______5. Play a 3D Mario game (Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, etc).

 
______6. Watch an episode of any Mario cartoon (Super Mario Bros Super Show, Super Mario World (cartoon), etc)

______7. Play a Mario board game (Super Mario Chess, Super Mario Checkers, etc)
______8. Learn about game ratings.  What are they?  What does each mean?
______9.  With parental permission, check out www.mariowiki.com.
______10. Make your own Super Mario power-up and explain why how you decided to create it.
______11. Throw a Super Mario party.
______12. Give a Super Mario toy to a charity.
______13. Create an ABC brag book with a Super Mario theme.
______14. Dress up as a Super Mario character.
______15. Write a review on a Super Mario game you have played and share it with your friends.
