Issue #90 – April 2019
A Note From the Founder – Thanks For Your Support!
by Kerry Cordy
Last month we tried something new and decided to participate in the first online homeschool convention. The 3 day event turned into four as the first day the servers crashed from too much traffic and they were forced to add an extra day. In spite of the fact that the servers kept crashing, making views our online booths nearly impossible, several die hard Quest members stuck it out (one for 5.5 hours!) until they were able to post a review of the Quest program to help us out. While overall, the convention was a disappointment as far as exposure and new members, it did serve to show me just how loyal and amazing our current membership is. That so many of you would take the time to leave a review in the first place was an honor and for those who persisted through the server crashes to actually get them posted, I applaud you. Well done! It is times like this that remind me why our community is so special. I have never met a group more willing to engage and support one another in every way imaginable. Thank you for living our motto, “If you see a need, take the lead!”
Month of the Military Child 2019
April is designated as the Month of the Military Child; a time to honor the sacrifices made by military families worldwide, with an emphasis on the experience of the dependent children of military members serving at home and overseas. Month of the Military Child is sponsored by the Department of Defense Military Community and Family Policy and supported by many other organizations such as the DoDEA. As we have many military families involved with Quest, we encourage you to support your local military kids.

Check out this great blog post from Nature’s Path on how to make a variety of adorable snacks from fruit and vegetables. This site is not a part of the Quest program, so visit at your own risk.

Member of the Month – We would like to highlight a different member each month and tell how Quest is making a difference in her life. (Yes, you can nominate yourself if you have something great to share!)
Activities and Adventures – Has your club done something fun and unusual? Send us pictures and a write up so that we can show others what you are doing and give them some inspiration to try new things.
Fundraising – Do you have some tried and true fundraisers you could share?
Games – We would love to give instructions for various games, both indoor and outdoor, that your club enjoys playing and would like to share with others.
Pointers for Patriots – Know of any tips, websites, or discounts for military families? Let us help you spread the word to other military families in our program.
Amazing Volunteers – Is your club leader outstanding? Do you have a parent helper that really keeps things running smoothly? Maybe you have a fundraising coordinator that helps your troop raise funds for its activities. This is the place to give them a little public credit and a thank you for all they do.
