Issue #24 – January 2018
A Note From the Founder – Annual SWAPS sign up has begun!
by Kerry Cordy
It is that time of year again and March 4th will be here before you know it. If you plan to participate in our annual national SWAPS exchange please register immediately using the form below.
March 4th each year is a day of action when Quest Clubs âMarch Forthâ across the nation to spread the word about our program and learn about other Quest members around the country. Kids participate in activities and projects with national themes to learn about other regions and states. March 4th (Forth!) not only gives kids a chance to celebrate inter-state or county friendships, but is also a reminder that they are part of a nationwide community.
The date March 4th was chosen as it is also the date that the first American Congress convened, marking the beginning of America as we know it today as they prepared to âmarch forthâ as a nation.
SWAPS are small craft items that can be pinned for display somewhere on a jacket, a backpack, a sash, or a scarf and is a perfect way for kidsâs to meet each other and promote friendship. Each SWAP item is a memory of a special event or of a friend in Quest and stands for âSouvenir With A Purposeâ, â Some Whatchamacallit Pinned Somewhereâ, âSwitch With A Palâ, or any other acronym you can come up with. Each swap should have a safety pin on the item to attach to your display. Search for âSWAPSâ images and ideas on the Internet or Pinterest to get ideas for your club/family. SWAPS should represent your club, family, or geographical area in some way.

Badge Sale!!
The annual Quest badge sale has begun! Every year our badges go on sale for 10% off for the entire month of January. This sale is designed to encourage clubs to place orders mid way through the school year so that end of year orders in May are not as large which allows us to get badges made and shipped in a more timely manner for everyone’s end of year award ceremonies. Please remember that badges are made to order and therefore not refundable so please only order what you know you will earn.

Scripture Jars
Amanda Piccirillo shared these awesome scripture jars to help her with her religious awards and badges such as Bible Knowledge, Old Testament and New Testament. The idea could easily be adapted to any religious religious faith to help you learn about your book of faith. The bottom jar is labeled “To Be Read” and holds Popsicle sticks with various verses on them. The top jar is empty and reads “Already Read”. As you read the various scriptures, you transfer the sticks from the bottom jar to the top. On the sides of the labels are tips and tricks for living and studying the scripture.
