_____2.* When first discovered by the Europeans in North America, what was the buffalo population? Why did the population fall to near extinction? What is the population now?
Level 2: Do five requirements including the two starred *
_____1.* Do Level 1 requirements 1 & 2.
_____2.* What role did the buffalo play with Native Americans? Find out where buffaloes lived and where they live now.
Level 3: Do six requirements including the two starred *
_____1.* Do Level 2 requirements 1 & 2.
_____2.* Identify three different types of buffalo. How are they different?
Level 4: Do seven requirements including the two starred *
_____1.* Do Level 3 requirements 1 & 2.
_____2.* Read a book about buffaloes.
Level 5: Do nine requirements including the two starred *
_____1.* Do Level 4 requirements 1 & 2
_____2.* Teach someone how to do a skill from this badge or teach some knowledge about this badge to someone. You can teach kids, your spouse, seniors, anyone, just as long as you are sharing your new found knowledge. If for some reason you cannot teach what you have learned to someone else, you may choose an additional 2 optional requirements instead.
_____3. What type of sound do buffaloes make? Find a recording and listen to it.
_____4. Watch a documentary about buffalo.
_____5. Find at least three recipes that use buffalo meat. Make one if possible.
_____6. Learn about three different diseases that affect buffalo.
_____7. What are the buffalo’s predators? And how does the buffalo defend themselves?
_____8. What are the two “true” buffalo in the world?
_____9. Learn about the life cycle of a buffalo. What do their babies look like? How long do they live? How often do they have young?
_____10. Go to the zoo, or elsewhere, and visit a buffalo. Make sure to follow all safety rules, as buffalo can be dangerous.
